Adult Computer Sessions - Wednesday's 1:00-3:00pm


Every Wednesday we have a tutor here to help with any computer related problems that you may have, from emails to spreadsheets or just brushing up on your skills, Peter is happy to help.

No booking necessary, just drop in, hot drinks provided

Kids Computers Sessions - Wednesday's 3:15-4:15


Every Wednesday afternoon for P5-P7's

Learn how to  use different programmes, play computer games and do your homework. Peter is on hand if you get stuck



Warm Wednesday & Computer & Games Workshop - Wednesday's 10.00-1.00pm


We hold a Warm Wednesday every week, providing refreshments and snacks for anybody who drops in. You could be in need of company or just warmth, we are here to help. Our computers will be available for your use if required, you can pay your bills or play games, we also have a tutor on hand if you need any help with any programme. Just drop in.

Job Club

 For those who are unemployed and seeking work, are in need of help with their CV, or want assistance with their job searching endeavours, our Job Club is an unmissable opportunity. With The Rural Academy, Coalburn One Stop shop are running a Job Club. If you are interested, come along and see what the Job Club can do for you.

Box and Fiddle Club

The Box and Fiddle club runs every fourth Sunday from 2:30 - 5:30pm (September to April)

Darby and Joan Club

The Darby and Joan Club runs every Monday 12:15 pm to 2:15 pm (September to May)

Every Thursday Matilda hold her Yoga Classes, from beginners to the experienced, Matilda caters for all, young and the not so young

Kids Computer Course (p4)

Coalburn One Stop Shop ran a free p4, 4 week scratch programming/ coding computer course that stared on Wednesday the 19th of February, from 3.15pm - 4.15pm. Organised by our development worker Amanda Davis. 

Adults Computer Course 

Coalburn One Stop Shop ran a free adults computer course that lasted 8 weeks and started on Wednesday the 15th of January, from 1 pm - 3pm. Organised by our development worker Amanda Davis.  

Kids Computer Course (p6/7)

Coalburn One Stop Shop ran a free 4 week scratch programming/ coding computer course that began on Wednesday the 15th of January, from 3.15-4.15pm. Organised by our development worker Amanda Davis. 

Jewellery Making Workshop

Coalburn One Stop Shop ran a free 4 week jewellery making workshop that started on Tuesday the 24th of January, from 7-9pm. 

Nursery Rhyme and Storytime

Our Nursery Rhyme and Story Time ran on three Mondays from 9.30am. It ran for nursery age children and was a success. If you are interested in another Nursery Rhyme and Storytime then please get in touch with Amanda Davis, our development worker at Coalburn One Stop Shop.

Aromatherapy Course

An aromatherapy course that began on Tuesday the 23rd of April, and ended on Wednesday the 5th of June ran successfully. The course was funded by the Big Lottery Fund. Participants received a certificate upon completion as well as leaving with new skills. 

We asked all of our participants to fill in a questionnaire regarding their experience with our aromatherapy course. Here are some examples:

"Yes, I gained much more knowledge. Kareen is fantastic at explaining and recommending oils"
"Yes, Kareen is very helpful at explaining and demonstrating everything"
"Yes, I learned a lot about the oils and how to mix them for different things, what ailments they help. Found it a very relaxing and friendly course"

We would like to thank everybody who attended our aromatherapy course, as without them we would not be able to run it and provide for the community.

Willow Workshop

Coalburn One Stop Shop recently held a Willow making workshop and it was a big success. Participants were taught how to make shapes and decoration using willow and each and every one of them had a blast.
