Job Club

For those who are unemployed and seeking work, are in need of help with their CV, or want assistance with their job searching endeavours, our Job Club is an unmissable opportunity. With The Rural Academy, Coalburn One Stop shop are running a Job Club. If you are interested, come along and see what the Job Club can do for you.

Citizens Advice Bureau

The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) service is a network of bureaus throughout the British Isles. Wherever it is found, a CAB offers an advice service that is free, independent, confidential and impartial. Additionally CAB campaign on current issues and provide feedback to the government on the effects of social policy. Bureaus are staffed by volunteers and a small number of paid staff, all of which are accountable within the bureau to its management group. 

Monday afternoon from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm
No appointment is necessary
Computer Course
Coalburn One Stop Shop are running a free computer sessions for adults, every Wednesday from 1-3pm. Booking is essential so to secure your place please call 01555 820060.

Kids Computer Course

Coalburn One Stop Shop are running  free computer sessions for P6 & P7 every Wednesday from 3.15pm-4.15pm. Booking is essential so book your place by calling 01555 820 060

Box and Fiddle Club

The Box and Fiddle club runs every fourth Sunday from 2:30 pm (September to April)

Darby and Joan Club

The Darby and Joan Club runs every Monday 12:15 pm to 2:15 pm (September to May) 

Lifestyle Slimming

Every Monday from 5:00pm
Everybody is welcome.

Aromatherapy Course

An aromatherapy course that began on Tuesday the 23rd of April, and ended on Wednesday the  5th of June ran successfully. The course was funded by the Big Lottery Fund. Participants received a certificate upon completion as well as leaving with new skills. 

We asked all of our participants to fill in a questionnaire regarding their experience with our aromatherapy course. Here are some examples:
  • Were your expectations met, please explain?
"Yes, I gained much more knowledge. Kareen is fantastic at explaining and recommending oils"
"Yes, Kareen is very helpful at explaining and demonstrating everything"
"Yes,  I learned a lot about the oils and how to mix them for different things, what ailments they help. Found it a very relaxing and friendly course"

We would like to thank everybody who attended our aromatherapy course, as without them we would not be able to run it and provide for the community.

Willow Workshop

Coalburn One Stop Shop recently held a Willow making workshop and it was a big success. Participants were taught how to make shapes and decoration using willow and each and every one of them had a blast.
