Dementia Awareness Day

Coalburn Miners Welfare held a Dementia Awareness Day on Tuesday the 4th of February from 2pm - 3pm. Where they were discussing what Dementia is and what the affects of it are. 

Dyslexia Awareness Day

Coalburn Miners Welfare held a Dyslexia Awareness Day on Wednesday the 4th of March from 10am - 12pm. Talking and discussing about what Dyslexia actually is, how it can be identified and how you can help someone cope with it.   

Dance and Buffet

Coalburn Miners Welfare held a Dance on Saturday 25th January 2020 from 7pm - 12.30pm. A  two course buffet was provided for guests attending, along with a DJ and band. 

Be Experimental! 

On Tuesday 15th October, The One Stop Shop and Be Experimental held a science morning. This morning was a massive success with more than 50 children attending. We plan on running another morning like this one in the Easter Holidays, which we hope will be as brilliant as our previous one. Coalburn One Stop Shop would like to thank the parents and volunteers who helped the morning run so smoothly. 

Family Summer Fun

Our family summer fun event is to engage with local families amidst Coalburn Gala Week. It was held on Thursday the 4th of July (10am-12pm) and is being run by Susan McNeish. This event was sponsored by Coalburn One Stop Shop.

A tuck shop is available from Coalburn Playgroup where families can buy small refreshments and snacks. Additionally, there will be activities such as arts and crafts, sporty play, quiet corner, games and many more. 

We would like to thank those who volunteered to help out at our Family Summer Fun morning. Without these people, our mornings could not have run so smoothly.

Christmas Craft Fair

On the 24th November, Coalburn One Stop Shop held a Christmas Craft Fair. This fair was a massive success, with members of the community selling their handmade goods at stalls they rented from us. Many attended the popular fair, with both the top and the bottom floor being crammed with those in the Christmas spirit.
